Cat Got Eating Problems? Maybe Not!

For some months now, I’ve been noticing that my cat’s feeding habits have been fluctuating. Sometimes, he eats like a champ, wolfing down his dry food in a matter of minutes. A few weeks go by, though, and then he’s barely willing to touch the stuff. I was worried that he had a medical issue, but my vet couldn’t find anything wrong with him at all. It wasn’t until I started paying close attention to his eating habits that I realized a pattern- he ate plenty when the bag of food was brand new, and started to get “pickier” as it got older. From there, it wasn’t hard to put two and two together- his food was going off quicker than I realized! I had never realized cats could be that sensitive to flavor- after all, they’re willing to chew on a gross old mouse, right? Well, as I found out, the fat in even high-quality cat food starts going rancid just as soon as the cat food is leaving the factory. Not only does it taste worse after a few weeks, but it actually starts to become unhealthy! After I invested in a good cat food storage bin, with an airtight seal, my cat’s habits straightened right out. Take a tip from me, and don’t skimp on proper pet food storage.
