Pets are good companions for each family member, and they can be powerful tools for teaching children responsibility and accountability. Not all animals, but ideal for children. Here are a few:
Dogs - Dogs are perhaps the most obvious choice, and one of the children’s races Beagle. Beagles are happy and friendly, and although they appreciate nature, they are comfortable inside too. (Other breeds that are known to be respectful of Malta, dachshunds, terriers, boxers, collies and retrievers.)
Fish – Fish is a lot of fun to watch and fairly low maintenance pets. They can also be very cheap. Make sure you do your research through the race (to make sure that it should be compatible) and prepared in the event of disease strike your tank.
Rodents - mice, gerbils, hamsters, Guinea pigs of all members of the family of rodents, and pets can be great for kids. The animals themselves are fairly inexpensive, but be sure to get the right equipment and habitats and to manage their care. Animals are usually very friendly and happy to make fun companions for children. A barrier to rodents, however, that many of them have a shorter life than other animals.
Birds – will see a lot of fun for children to play with. Parakeets, parrots and cockatiels are popular choices, and demonstrate their colorful and playful nature keeps the whole family. Some birds can learn to speak, when special precautions must be taken to keep children at home or cut through the mouth during handling.
No matter what animal you are safe for your family and your children a few things first. Make sure your child is not allergic to pets (especially cats shed), and ensure you are able to continue to care for animals throughout their lives. You may want to make sure there is a local veterinarian able to handle and care for your pet in particular and / or race, as well.
It is important to teach children, gentle with pets. Children can be rough, especially when they are excited about the new addition to the family, the defensive action can be the result of PET. For the safety of your children, teach them gently and respectfully with new pets.
With a pet can be a powerful tool to highlight the importance of the responsibility to teach children. Do they have a chore to follow the list of food, cleaning and care of animals.
